Accredited Family Law Specialist

Chiara Auteri (BA, LLB) is an associate with the firm and heads up our Family Law Division located at the Boronia Office. Chiara has been with the firm since 2001 when she commenced her Articles of Clerkship. She was admitted into practice in 2002 and has practised exclusively in family law since that time being accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a Family Law Specialist in 2007.

Chiara deals with all legal issues arising from family and relationship breakdown including:

  • Parenting disputes including child protection concerns, applications by extended family members to see children and relocation of residence
  • Financial Agreements including pre-nuptial agreements and binding financial agreements
  • Intervention orders and issues pertaining to family violence
  • Defacto and same sex relationships
  • Spousal Maintenance
  • Divorce
  • Complex property division including superannuation splitting and family trusts

A past volunteer at the Eastern Community Legal Centre, Chiara endeavours to provide clients with realistic advice and strong representation whether attempting negotiations or, if required, running court proceedings.

Being highly skilled and extremely experienced, Chiara can guide clients through the often intimidating and stressful process of resolving family law disputes in even the most complex of matters. She is approachable and respectful of client’s needs during what can be a very difficult and distressing time for them.

Chiara also believes that obtaining some initial advice, when contemplating a separation or shortly after a separation has occurred, is often critically important for clients in this situation. Accordingly, Chiara has developed a program which allows for clients to seek preliminary advice about their rights and legal position relative to their individual circumstances when they most need it.
